I needed business cards when I meet people and to promote myself. The design is meant to portray a sense of seriousness and simplicity, using a minimal approach and typography. As it was meant for a low print run, digital printing was chosen over offset. The result of the 4-color digital printing is a Zen, slightly grained black surface promoting good readability, despite small font sizes. The little white triangles adds a subtle visual guide for the eyes.

Imaginary Systems. is what I used to call my “company” a few years ago when I was freelancing. I was still serving National Service with the Singapore Arm Forces at the time so it was tough to juggle work and such unnecessary legal obligations.

The logotype consists of a group of shapes which is arranged to represent the letters i, m and s. The basic concept is using the least graphical shapes to effectively express the identity of Imaginary Systems.

Show here is the clear version. It is made by sandwiching two thin plastic laminates with the graphics in between. How exactly it is done I have no idea.
