Aen in Website Design

Before I started AEN, I had another company called Imaginary Systems. which was setup while I was still in the army. It was one of the larger scale Flash websites I made at the time. It made use of XML as data storage and had a pretty decent PHP & MySQL guestbook feature.

Aen in Website Design

My first table-less website made with CSS, for a local web host. The site included some off-the-shelf domain searching tools and a really simple PHP ordering system I created. It has now changed to more sophisticated stuff.
It is still alive. See it at http://focushub.com/.

A very old portfolio site build in Macromedia Flash for photographer Enrica Yuen, now defunct. I was still using the Mozilla (not Firefox) to test this website at that time.

Aen in Identity Design

This is as minimalistic as one can get without crossing the line of insanity. Despite people commenting the difficulty of reading white text on a translucent card, it turned out quite well. Every person or client I gave the cards to are impressed by them. One even said something like “You know this is one of the times when you see something that makes you really happy”.

The graphics and text are printed onto the “Polyfrost” plastic using the silkscreen method. Both printing and material are provided by Graffiti Creation, the printing company helping me.

Fisheye Pictures is led by award-winning director Anthony Chen. Their latest short film Haze is headed for the Berlin Film Festival on Feb 17 as the first Singaporean short film to be selected to compete in the short film category. Along with the redesign of Fisheye Pictures identity, I have designed a series of promotional materials for the Berlin press during the festival. It was also time for a new business card to go with the rebranding exercise.
The card is printed on textured 300gsm “Village” premium stock. The logo at the back extends to the front of the card.

The logo is based on a Japanese calligraphy concept and uses 2 brush strokes and a dot to depict an eye within a fish or a fish within an eye, inline with the Zen philosophies of aesthetics I preach.
